How business ownership, agriculture, and equine experience shape a client-first approach to insurance.

As we begin 2026, we’re excited to welcome Christina Howe to The Daley Agency team as our newest Sales Associate. Christina brings a rare combination of real-world business ownership experience, deep roots in agriculture and the equine world, and a thoughtful, client-first approach to insurance.
Having spent 15 years running her own business and growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, Christina understands firsthand the dedication it takes to build and protect something meaningful. Her lifelong connection to horses, farming, and land stewardship gives her a unique perspective on the risks farm owners, agricultural businesses, and equine operations face every day. Just as importantly, Christina leads with empathy, patience, and honesty, values that shape how she works with every client.
In the interview below, Christina shares her journey into insurance, what drew her to The Daley Agency, and how her background continues to guide the way she supports clients and their livelihoods.
In one sentence, how would you introduce yourself to someone meeting you for the first time?
CH: I’m a hardworking professional who understands the realities of running a business and the importance of protecting what matters most. As a mom, I bring patience, care, and kindness into everything I do, and I’m committed to supporting others with honesty, empathy, and a strong work ethic.
What drew you to The Daley Agency?
CH: I chose to work at The Daley Agency because my life has always been surrounded by horses, farming, and the rewards and challenges of running a business. Growing up in a family of business owners, I learned early on the heart and dedication it takes to build something meaningful. After 15 years of running my own business and deciding to change industries, I wanted to bring my experience to help farm owners and entrepreneurs feel truly supported and secure, knowing that their livelihoods, animals, and operations are protected when it matters most. Joining The Daley Agency felt like the perfect way to make that happen.
Can you walk us through your professional background and how it led you into insurance?
CH: Ever since I was little, I dreamed of owning my own business, inspired by watching my dad pour his heart into his work. By the time I was seven, I had already discovered my true passion: horses and caring for animals, and by twelve I proudly owned my first horse. That love for dedication and responsibility carried over into my professional life, where I ran my own event planning company for 15 years, managing complex logistics, building custom software, and bringing every detail of an event to life. Along the way, I also helped manage an interior design company, supporting marketing strategies and sales processes, and managed the office of a landscaping company, gaining hands-on experience in operations and client relations. Today, I combine my lifelong passion for animals with my professional experience to help clients feel confident that their businesses, farms, and livelihoods are protected.
What made you want to focus on, or expand into, farming and agricultural insurance?
CH: I was drawn to commercial agricultural insurance because of my lifelong love for horses, gardening, and caring for the land. Being so closely connected to animals and agriculture, I understand the dedication and responsibility it takes to protect them. I wanted to turn that passion into meaningful work by helping farm owners and agricultural businesses feel confident that everything they’ve worked so hard to build is properly protected.
You have an extensive equine background. Can you tell us more about that and how it’s shaped your career?
CH: My equine background is rooted in a lifelong love and passion for both the animals and the sport. I began riding horses at summer camp when I was just seven years old, and from that moment on, horses became an inseparable part of my life, something only a true horse person can understand. I’ve owned my own horses since I was twelve and went on to have a successful junior riding career, earning top ribbons at many well-known horse shows in the Tri-State area and North Carolina. While my showing career took a backseat as I focused on building my business, my love for the sport and the animals has never wavered, and I continue to ride for fun even though I’m no longer competing.
What are some unique challenges farm and equine clients face that people may not realize?
CH: Both agriculture and Equine farm owners face unique insurance challenges that many people don’t fully understand, especially when it comes to catastrophic loss. A single event, such as a barn fire, severe storm, or major accident—can impact buildings, animals, plants, equipment, employees, and income all at once. Workers’ compensation exposures, combined with complex liability risks involving employees, riders, visitors, and animals, add another layer of risk that can be difficult to navigate without proper coverage. Because their homes, livelihoods, and passions are so closely connected, these situations carry significant financial and emotional consequences, making specialized insurance protection essential.
When working with a new client, what’s most important to you in those first conversations?
CH: I believe the most important part of the first few conversations is taking the time to truly understand each client, their business, their day-to-day operations, and what they are most passionate about. By learning how they work and what matters most to them, I can better identify their unique risks and needs. This approach allows me to tailor coverage that properly protects not just their business, but the people, animals, and investments they care about most.
What do you hope clients feel after working with you?
CH: My goal is that after working with me, clients feel confident and at peace knowing their coverage truly protects what matters most to them. I want them to feel supported, informed, and never unsure about their insurance decisions. More than just providing policies, I strive to be a trusted partner, someone they can rely on, ask questions of, and feel comfortable reaching out to as their business and needs grow.
What’s a lesson horses or farming have taught you that you carry into your professional life?
CH: Horses have played a defining role in shaping who I am. Through years of working with them, I’ve learned the importance of staying calm under pressure, building trust through consistency, and showing up with confidence and hard work every day. Horses respond to patience, honesty, and steady leadership, and those lessons have carried into my professional life, guiding how I approach challenges, build relationships, and support others with care and reliability.
What are you most looking forward to as you grow with The Daley Agency?
CH: I’m genuinely excited about the people I’ll have the opportunity to meet and help while working at The Daley Agency. Building relationships, learning about each client’s business, and understanding what matters most to them is something I truly enjoy.
Christina’s passion for her work, combined with her deep understanding of agriculture, equine operations, and business ownership, makes her a natural fit for The Daley Agency. Her commitment to building trust, listening closely, and tailoring coverage to what truly matters allows clients to feel confident, supported, and at ease, knowing their homes, businesses, animals, and livelihoods are properly protected.
We’re proud to have Christina as part of our growing team and look forward to the relationships she’ll build and the impact she’ll make as she continues to grow with The Daley Agency. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable partner who understands both the personal and professional sides of risk, Christina is someone you’ll be glad to work with.
